Coach Tia has always been an active individual since childhood. Growing up with fifteen siblings (ten of them boys), there was rarely a still moment. Her love for martial arts began at a young age through anime and films such as Dragon Ball Z and Ong-Bak. Though her large family made formal training impossible at the time, her passion for the arts remained a burning flame in her heart.
After becoming a mother at twenty-one, Tia was determined not to let adulthood or responsibility hold her back from her passions. Soon after recovering from childbirth, she joined kickboxing classes and trained consistently. Within her first year, she stepped into her first smoker bout — and from that moment, she was hooked. Competing ignited something deeper within her, a hunger to refine herself physically, mentally, and spiritually through combat.
By her third smoker, Tia was ready to advance her striking by transitioning into Muay Thai. Not long after, she began training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and found a natural connection to the art. Six months into BJJ, Tia entered her first tournament and won first place in her white belt division.
During her two years working in both MMA and commercial gyms, Tia developed a deep fascination with human performance — particularly how the body functions within combat sports, biomechanics, and kinesiology. This curiosity evolved into purpose, inspiring her to become a certified personal trainer.
Through her certification, Tia has united her passions for martial arts, fitness science, and holistic philosophy into one mission: to help others master not just the body, but the balance of spirit, mind, and energy.
“People always ask me, ‘Tia, how do you do all these things and pursue so many passions?’
My answer is simple — through discipline, intention, and energy management. Freedom, to me, is movement. Movement is the language of the universe, whether through energy or matter. We are spirit before we are flesh. Energy flows where attention goes, and my goal is to use that energy with purpose — through movement, training, refinement, and daily expansion of knowledge and skill.”
